Honeywell L5100 Programming Guide (Rev 5)

Turns out I was incorrect. My panel is an L5000. Frustratingly, it looks almost identical and the motherboard still has the place to attach the L5100 wifi card. There are even grayed out options in the comm diagnostics page, but I have since come to understand that with the L5000, I am dead in the water. Found a nice, as-new L5100 panel for $35, which is on the way to replace my L5000 panel. Should be good to go after that. Thanks for the reply.
Hi, If you're unable to access the options in the comm diag screen you'll need to go into the communicator screen and verify your communication path is set to wifi. After that is confirmed you'll be able to go into the configure wifi option to connect your panel online.
I purchased the L5100 WIFI card for my L5100 alarm panel and installed it correctly. That is, I unplugged the power from the wall, disconnected the battery, installed the WIFI card, made sure it was seated correctly, re-inserted the battery cable and plugged back into the wall. I get a "no communication path" message when I enter programming mode/communicator and under communicator diagnostics, all of the boxes below are grayed out. I am on my second L-5100 WIFI card and am getting the same result. No WIFI connectivity. Any idea what's going on here?
That is strange. Are you sure you were out of programming mode when testing the enrolled sensors?
Issue resolved!!. Quick Recap should others encounter. I reset the installer code, not factory reset. Previously created sensors/serial numbers still in system but not logging events. Solution: I took a picture of the panel for each serial number in each zone. I deleted each serial number & saved. Then I re-entered the serial number for each zone and saved. Logging now works....but can't explain why.
Factory Default resets all programming, including zones. There are template zones for 2-5 after a default but none of the serial numbers should still be in there. If you have serial numbers still programmed, those zones should be working.
Yes, Factory Default reset installer code. Interesting, after the Factory reset, all the existing sensors/zones are still listed and chime as indicated. However, I"m suspecting I'll need to delete and re-program each of them to get them to record. I'll start with just one to be sure.
When you say you reset your panel, do you mean you did a Factory Default? If so, you'll need to re-program all of your sensors/zones.
After resetting my L5100 installer code, I setup a new outdoor motion detector to "general monitor." It is now the only live event which is getting recorded as an "event" in the console (no sensor faults, door openings etc are recorded...hence, notifications do not function). :I have the "log all" setting enabled, but is there something else I'm missing?
Okay, and you said "the L5100 would say fault on three zones". Does that mean you have two separate issues? Faults on some wireless zones and faults on the hardwired zone?
yes, as a hard wired zone
I'm not clear on what you are doing. Are you using the hardwired zone 1 of the L5100?
Sterling, yes to an existing zone, however, the L5100 would say fault on three zones i installed the transmitter. My meter indicates the loop is closed, am I programming this incorrectly?
Some sensors have multi-functions. You can't program two zones with the same serial number and loop number so the loop number is the way to designate which of the multi-functions you want to happen for that particular zone. Are you just splicing in a new sensor to an existing wired zone? If so, you shouldn't have to change any programming. Wire it in series, and it should work like all the other sensors.
Sterling great videos that are clear and concise, thank you! Two questions, what is the signififcance of the loop number? Secondly I am installing a door/window transmitter on an existing hardwired loop. What are the programming requirements for a door/window transmitter?
      Success! Thank you, Sterling.

      I have a 5100. 4112 is not working.
The default installer code doesn't work. The installer may have changed it. What can I do to acquire the MAC and CRC numbers??

      Notes:
      (1) Button type (BR) devices send only fault and low battery signals; no restore or check-in signals.

Supervised RF (RF) devices send periodic check-in signals, faults, restore and low battery signals.

Unsupervised RF (UR) devices send periodic check-in signals, faults, restore and low battery signals but the
control does not supervise the check-in signals.

      (2) If an external sounder is required, the 5800WAVE should be used.

They strolled along to where there were some black-eyed girls in charge of booths, where, for a small consideration, a visitor can practise shooting with bows and arrows. The bows were very small, and the arrows were blunt at the ends. The target was a drum, and consequently the marksman's ear, rather than the eye, told when a shot was successful. The drums were generally square, and in front of each there was a little block of wood. A click on the wood showed that a shot was of more value than when it was followed by the dull boom of the drum. The girls brought tea to the boys, and endeavored to engage them in conversation, but, as there was no common language in which they could talk, the dialogue was not particularly interesting. The boys patronized the archery business, and tried a few shots with the Japanese equipments; but they found the little arrows rather difficult to handle, on account of their diminutive size. An arrow six inches long is hardly heavy enough to allow of a steady aim, and both of the youths declared they would prefer something more weighty. I was tempted to say it was me, too, but I forbore and only said it was I. "'The Tragedy of the Corner House.'" Relligionibus, atque minis obsistere vatum: beside it. And I realized that a man was sitting in the big chair We drove across a succession of parks to visit[Pg 175] Sumer Mundir, a too elaborately carved temple, the panels representing scenes from the Ramayana set in ornamental borders. On the roof, which bristled with sculptured stone, thousands of blue pigeons were perched asleep, their iridescent plumage scarcely stirring in the sunshine. Beyond a tank at the end of the park was a palace in the Arab style with incredibly delicate ornaments of wrought marble, open halls painted in subdued colouring, and lighted by the golden reflections from the water. The pool had steps all round it, in which crowds seat themselves on the occasions of pilgrimage, and far away the enchanting vision of Benares, the holy city, in every shade of amber and honey. Whenever our green driver meets another ekka-driver they both get off their perch and take a few puffs at the hookah that hangs in a bag at the back of the vehicle. “But it had to be a pilot who did all the things we have evidence of, Dick.” "Shut up, Pete," said Shorty petulantly, as a shell from a rebel battery shrieked through the woods with a frightful noise. "Git behind this stump here, and lay your gun across it. I'll stand beside you. Don't shoot till you've a bead on a man. Keep quiet and listen to orders." One day Reuben was so tired that he fell asleep over his supper. His mother cleared the table round him, glancing at him with fond, submissive eyes. Each day she had come to love him more, with an obedient love, almost instinctive and elemental, which she had never felt for the gentle husband or considerate son. This evening she laid her shawl over his shoulders, and went to her washing-up. Farewell, farewell, you jolly young girls! That afternoon, Richard was standing on a turret of the fortress, looking at the column of flame which still rose brightly from Lancaster palace, even above the heavy smoke and occasional sparklings which told elsewhere of the whereabout of the incendiaries.
