ntegration
Guide

Control4 is a smart home automation and control system,

which integrates with ProSeries security systems to provide
enhanced home security and automation capabilities.

This integration
allows users to control their First Alert alarm
systems through the Control4 platform, receiving alerts and managing security features from a single interface.


Control4 achieves this by utilizing certified

drivers

and the

Simple Device Discovery
Protocol (SDDP),

which simplifies the
process of configuring devices by automatically discovering and adding compatible devices. Integrating with ProSeries
security control panels, allows for remote monitoring and control of alarms, cameras, and other secu
rity devices.

When the ProSeries Control Panel is discovered, the IP address and other key pairing information is passed on to
Control4
, which then
automatically
downloads the specific integration driver from the internet
.
ProSeries and Control4
must be paired through a pairing process to allow specific security
-
related awareness and functions to be performed from
one central location
.
This pairing process
must be
enabled from both the Control4 side and the ProSeries side.
AlarmNet
360 (AN360) is a cloud
-
based management

platform which provides the ProSeries Control Panel with a Control4 feature
flag,
and
when enabled allows ProSeries to communicate with and to be paired with Control4.
When

successfully
paired,
all network communication between Control4 and ProSeries is
processed
through the same local route
r.


PREREQUISITES

Prerequisites for

AUTOMATIC SETUP USING CONTROL4 SDDP

To automatically set up and add the
integration
drive to the Control4 system using SDDP, perform the following:

1.

From
Composer Pro
,
initiate the discovery of
the ProSeries Control Panel
:

click on the discovered ProSeries
integration
driver
.

The
applicable
driver
is
downloaded from the internet

The IP address and other key pairing information is sent to
Composer Pro.

The ProSeries integration driver is added to the Control4 Controller

and connected to the IP address of the
ProSeries Control Panel.

From Composer Pro,
pair the driver to the ProSeries Control Panel
:

The
pairing process will timeout after 120 seconds if unsuccessful.

Control4

is now ready to be paired with ProSeries

(transmits a pairing request)

PAIR

CONTROL4 AND PROSERIES

To pair the ProSeries Control Panel
to
the Control4
C
ontroller, perform the
following:

1.

From the
m
enu, select the
Tools

option.


2.

Enter the installer PIN to display the
Tools

menu options.

3.

croll down and s
elect the
Control4 Controller

option.

Note:
The
Control4 Controller

option is only displayed when Control4
service has been enabled through
the
AN360 Programming Tool.

4.

Selec
t the
Pair Controller to Control4 Controller

option
to start the pairing process.

ProSeries is put in a pairing mode (receives the pairing
request).

?

If the pairing is successful, the
Control4 Controller information

is automatically populated.

If

the pairing is unsuccessful, the
Control4 Controller information

fields remain unpopulated.

can only be paired

one Control4
Controller; however, m

If

you want to pair a ProSeries Control Panel

a different Control4 Controller, you must first unpair that
connection and then you can pair with
that

different Control4 Controller.

VERIFY CONTROL4 AND PROSERIES INTEGRATION

To verify a successful integration, perform the following:

1.

From the
Control4
Composer Pro, select
Properties

to display the
Partitions
.
