Description
Want to make sure your security system is equipped with the latest features? Your panel's firmware might be the key. In this guide, Dylan from Alarm Grid demonstrates the simple process of checking the firmware version on your PROA7PLUS panel.
New features, bug fixes, and compatibility with new sensors often depend on having up-to-date firmware. We'll show you how to find out where you stand in just a few steps.
?? A MUST-KNOW FOR UPDATES:
All over-the-air firmware updates are delivered via AlarmNet360 and can only be received over Wi-Fi. A panel using only the cellular path will be unable to update.
Find all PROA7PLUS product manuals and firmware release notes on the Alarm Grid website.

Hey, DIYers. Dylan here with Alarm Grid. Today we gonna review how to access the firmware version on the PROA7PLUS panel. I'll show you how to access it through the panel itself. And also if you have this setup with a monitoring company, you can contact them. They can check the version remotely as well as push any updates to the panel.
OK. So we have our PROA7PLUS panel here. To access the firmware version, we gonna press the bottom three bars. We gonna scroll to Tools. We gonna enter the installer code. Ours is still the default, so 4112.
We'll go to system information. Press the down arrow next to general. And then we have the firmware version there. So again, if you don't check this locally from the panel, you can contact your alarm company. They can check the version for you and push down any updates if necessary.
Some things that have been offered through recent firmware updates is the introduction of the local programming mode that allows you to program the system through the actual panel screen. Newer versions of the panel are already up to date, at least in regards to that. But if you don't see the local programming mode option, that's why you just need to get the firmware updated, which is going to be done through an alarm company.
Some other features that are available is a common lobby partition, support for the PROSIX wireless repeater, and also the PROSIX heat detector. The repeater will help repeat any signals from the PROSIX or SiX Series sensors, and then the heat detector is the heat detector. You can also get severe weather alerts. You do need to have this connected with monitoring company for that, as that's going to be pushed down through the alarm net servers.
Some other options is if you're in Canada, you can use the PROLTE-CN communicator. That's a cellular communicator that is built to be used in Canada. If you have any cameras connected with your Total Connect to service, which is set up through an alarm company, you can stream videos from that to the actual panel. And that also does include the Skybell doorbell. You can stream that.
Other options is disarm photos for the PROWLTOUCH keypad. I'm sorry, PROWLTOUCH keypad. So that's a secondary keypad for the system. By default, you can get disarmed photos viewed through the panel. So when you take a picture-- I'm sorry. When you disarm the system, this camera here will take a picture so you can view who's disarmed the system. And if you have a PROWLTOUCH keypad, you can view it through there as well.
OK, so that's how you check your firmware. And you will need a Wi-Fi connection from the panel for the firmware to be pushed down. And also, if you're trying to stream a cameras to the panel, you're gonna need that Wi-Fi connection as well. Again, if you have this setup with a monitoring company, contact them. They can check remotely for you as well and push any updates if any are available.
